Moshi has an amazing history that captures the story of Tanzania. From the Chagga villages in the foothills to the coffee plantations and the old colonial houses. We’ll start with coffee and cake at the best café in East Africa. Here we will map out the areas you want to cover. We can work our way through the markets into the lane ways and parks of Moshi. We’ll head into the villages where you’ll get breath taking views of Mt. Kilimanjaro.

Materuni Waterfall

Let’s leave the comforts of Moshi town and go on an adventure to our waterfalls, tropical foothills covered in banana plantations and coffee fields. This will give you a deep insight into the everyday lives of the Chagga people. Materuni is the last village before Mt. Kilimanjaro National Park about 15 km north of Moshi Town. We’ll end our adventure with a local lunch where you’ll get to enjoy some banana wine, fresh coffee and the joys of local BBQ.

Chemka /Kikuletwa Hotspring

Chemka or Kikuletwa hotspring is at Rundugai village about 25 km south of Moshi town. This is a magical oasis of fig trees and turquoise pool of lukewarm crystal-clear water. The hot spring bubbles with fresh underground water originating from the mountain and forms a beautiful small lake. You will enjoy the day swimming, sunbathing and chatting with the locals.

Lake Chala Day Trip

An hour and a half drive from Moshi town is the beautiful Lake Chala, a caldera lake bordering Tanzania and Kenya. It’s a beautiful and rather unusual place with incredible views, narrow pathways frequented by elephants. There’s a great walk around the lake that takes you down about 200m to the crater lake. Here you can go for a swim or kayak around the edge of the lake, ideal for bird and monkey watching and for climbing the many submerged trees.

Join us for a memorable night out on in Moshi town, a.k.a More Town. Let’s start with sun downer at one of rooftop bars overlooking Mt Kilimanjaro. When you’re ready, we’ll wonder over for some dinner. You can go local or try our incredible Indo-Chinese cuisine. Then it’s a night safari of our different bars, lounges, dance halls, clubs, pubs and local karaoke. Full Emersion Tour

This tour is designed to give you an insight into the ways of life in Northern Tanzania. Over five days we’ll work our way through the diverse tribes that call the north home. We begin with where my husband Charles grew up, in the Chagga villages on the slopes of Mt. Kilimanjaro. You will feel right at home in the village, gardens, coffee and banana fields of the Chagga people.
We then travel to Oldonyo Lengai (3,188M) an Active volcano and a Great Rift Valley escarpment. Here we will explore together with the Maasai tribesmen on their sacred land around Lake Natron, an arid and beautiful soda lake which is breeding place for flamingos.
On day three you will walk with the Hadzabe a hunter gatherer tribe on the shores of Lake Eyasi south of Ngorongoro Crater. You will learn to hunt, gather and spend a little time with these elusive people.

Circumnavigate Mt. Kilimanjaro Cycling Tour
